The team of coach David Blatt after two defeats in the Nuremberg tournament saved the best for last and beat previously undefeated in preseason Euroleague champion Olympiacos. CSKA Moscow won the Beko leagues cup

Maccabi Tel Aviv wanted to redeem itself with a big preseason win after two straight defeats and did it against a mighty opponent. The Israeli champions beat Euroleague champ Olympiacos 92-74 in the Nuremberg tournament. The Greeks had a bad game and seemed to be kind of tired, while Americans Ricky Hickman (19 p.) and David Logan (15 p.) had a big game for Maccabi.

On the last game of Nuremberg tournament, Russian runner up Khimki won the game against the hosts Brose Baskets Bamberg (87-81) with captain Vitaly Fridzon scoring 26 points. Despite its defeat Olympiacos got the trophy of the tournament, after winning both Bamberg and Khimki the previous days.

CSKA Moscow won the “Beko leagues cup tournament” after destroying Turkish champion Besiktas by 25 points (85-60). In the third place game of the tournament Lithuanian champions Zalgiris Kaunas beat Bayern Munich (74-58).

Also, Panathinaikos won one more game in the tournament “Petros Oikonomakis” which is held in the Creta island, in Greece. The victim was Eurocup participant Panionios and the score was 94-69 with Lithuanian forward Jonad Maciulis scoring 17 points.
