Panathinaikos has decided to move in a different direction not only by replacing Hilton Armstrong, but also by signing a power forward who could play also as a “3”. A player who fits this profile and is being examined by coach Argiris Pedoulakis is Dajuan Summers.
The former player of Pistons and Hornets has the athletic skills and the body to play in position “4” and can also shoot behind the three points line so he can help also as a small forward. The negative thing aboit him is that his experience in European basketball is very poor, as his stint in Siena last season lasted only a few weeks. The Georgetown graduate got limited playing time by coach Simone Pianigiani and after three games in legabasket, he was released from his two years contract with the team of Tuscany. Then he signed with the New Orleans Hornets, averaging 4,5 points and 1,5 rebound in 15 contests.
His talent and his athletic abilities make his case very interesting, but his lack of European know may prevent the Greens from signing him.
