Fotsis staying put (for now)

Panathinaikos wishes for the return of Antonis Fotsis, but EA7 Olimpia Milano at this point doesn’t consider this scenario. To be exact there are sources from Italy disputing that a meeting between PAO’s owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos and Milan’s brass was held on Friday in order to discuss the possible transfer, there isn’t any offer, so it’s clear that Fotsis is a valuable member of the team.

The Greens will have to wait until the summer in order to lure Fotsis back to Athens and according to Greek sources there’s only one possibility for this to change in the immediate future. If EA7 Armani Milano doesn’t qualify to Euroleague’s Top16, then maybe the Italian side will change its approach to the possible transfer.

However, after last week’s results in Euroleague and the win of Milan over Cedevita, the Italians are on the verge of qualifying to the next phase of the competition and they can seal their ticket with a road win against Caja Laboral on Thursday.
