According to the Greek sports newspaper “Protathlitis” o Olympiacos is already in talks with British center Pops Mensah Bonsu! The 30 years old player after an amazing season with Besiktas, where he won the Turkish league, the Turkish cup and the Eurochallenge, signed with Maccabi Tel Aviv, but he was released because he got injured.
Many reports were linking him with EA7 Armani Milano and he was even expected to Italy in order to be examined by the team’s doctors. This never happened and maybe that had also something to do with the interest of Euroleague champions who want to boost their front line, because of the injury woes in the knees of Josh Powell.
There is a confirmation for the talks with the Reds by the side of the player and in the following days a lot can be expected. If Pops signs with the Greek club, he will be eligible immediately for the Greek league, but he will have to wait until the 7th Top16 gameday in Euroleague.
