Enes Kanter was first presented in the national teams scene during the last Eurobasket, in Lithuania back in 2011, but he will not be back in Slovenia in September 2013. Eurohoops sources across the Atlantic confirm that after his shoulder surgery the Turkish center will be absent in the upcoming Eurobasket.
The rehabilitation process for the 20 years old player will take two to three months. In theory he could make his return to action in Slovenia, but that will not happen. He will miss the training camp of his national team and after that it will be really difficult for him and for the team to have him added in the roster with no real preparation for such a tournament.
It’s the second confirmed absence for a national team due to an NBA player injury, after the shock of Italian Danilo Gallinari’s misfortune in Denver.
