Marcus Williams had a more than good season with Unicaja but his future in Spain is uncertain. The American guard wants to leave Unicaja though the new coach of the team is not yet hired and his target is to return to the NBA after three seasons in Europe and China

Unicaja has started planning the team for the new season and next to the name of Marcus Williams there is a big question mark. His contract has a team option, but the player wants to leave! After a very good season in the Euroleague and Liga Endesa he wants to make the big step and play again in the NBA.

He spent three seasons in Europe (Enisey, Unics, Unicaja) and China (Jiangsu Nangang Dragons) and now he feels ready to return to “the league”, where he played for New Jersey Nets, Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies.

The 28 year-old guard impressed everyone with his leadership and his “killing instinct” during the Euroleague Top 16, especially in the game in Moscow against CSKA (5/8 3ps) and against Panathinaikos (5/7 3ps) in Malaga.

He wants to take part in a Summer League and if he doesn’t get any NBA offers, everything is possible. Ηis contract last season with Unicaja was mid range (380.000 euros) and many contenders around the Europe have them on their list, because there is also a buy out.
