If Olympiacos can’t keep Vasilis Spanoulis in Greece, then the Reds have two alternatives. The main is Bobby Brown and the second one can be one more player with impressive Euroleague games, former Unicaja guard Marcus Williams

Bobby Brown exploded this season in Euroleague as the leader of Siena after his career season he is one of the hottest summer names. The American guard wants to return in the States – many reports are already linking him with the Knicks, the Clippers and the Blazers – but he will not deny a contract with an elite Euroleague team, if he couldn’t get his NBA wishes fulfilled.

During the last days Olympiacos seems focused to the 29 years old guard and he seems to be the first option of the team if the team captain and star, Euroleague MVP Vasilis Spanoulis decides to continue his career elsewhere. Brown is not in a hurry, he wants to wait for possible NBA offers, however the option of signing in a top European team, while also having an NBA out clause until the end of July (like in the case of Acie Law) doesn’t leave him indifferent.

At this point the Greek club hasn’t offered anything official to the American guard, however there is solid interest which can became official after the desicion of Europe’s present basketball king, V-Span. Bobby Brown’s representatives are probing the market for a million dollars contract, a number that can be given by Olympiacos. If Brown has the option to sign a contract and also still be avaible for the NBA until the end of the month, he will be glad to take it.

However, there is also one more player that can be considered a valid alternative to Spanoulis and may have an even lower pricetag. Marcus Williams (photo) after opting out from him contract with Spanish club Unicaja is also searching for his new team with one eye to the NBA and the other to Europe. He is a player who can also be used in “2” position and he can “kill” every defense with his shooting range.
