Last season due to the shortage of talent in the other side of the ocean, lots of Europeans declared early for the NBA draft. At the end, three of them (Kanter, Valanciunas, Veselj) were chosen in the first six numbers and others in the first round. This year the scenery is totally different and therefore few Europeans will make the move to the NBA. One of them (as eurohoops.net first reported) could be Furkan Aldemir who may have put his name in the “underclassmen” list, but still hasn’t decided if he is gonna “stay” until the end.
“I still don’t know, I will have to speak with my agent and my father to decide what’s best for me”, Aldemir told to eurohoops.net but didn’t hide that… “like every player, my big dream is to play in the NBA”.
Of course the talented Turkish power big man has a contract with Galatasaray and has become an integral part of the team. If Galata moves on in the Turkish playoffs, then he will probably withdraw his name, since he won’t have the time to travel in US to show his abilities in workouts with NBA teams. The withdrawal deadline for international players is 18th of June, 10 days before the draft.
