Having already a great season in Siena, Daniel Hackett is one of the hottest names in the European market, as the Top16 approaches. However the player is expected to finish the season in his current team, no matter if Siena makes it to the second phase of Euroleague or not.

Eurohoops contacted his agent, Mario Scotti, after the appearance of Siena’s boss Fernando Minucci in Istanbul during the game between Galatasaray and Fenerbahce/ Ulker. It was logical to assume that Minucci’s presence in Turkey had to do with the possible transfer of the player, but that wasn’t the case.

“I think Daniel Hackett will stay in Siena all season”, said Scotti. The Italian-American guard will be a free agent in the summer of 2014 and he would like to take a shot in the NBA. As his agent confirmed: “There is interest for him from different NBA teams already”. That makes it really difficult for a European team to pay a buy out to Siena in order to get the player and then lose him at the end of the current season, because the NBA seems to be his priority at this point.
