Scotty Hopson was one of the stand outs of Anadolu Efes during Euroleague’s regular season, however he played only one game in Top16 – against Unicaja – due to injuries and the team is not happy with the way he is copping with his health issues. That was evident with him staying in Istanbul as the team is travelling to Spain for the game against Laboral Kutxa.
According to Eurohoops sources, while the future of Hopson is still in question, the team is about to sign one more American guard and 29 years old Marc Carter who is currently a member of Greek club Panionios is one of the candidates. Carter is currently playing in Eurocup’s Last32, he was the MVP of regular season’s week 8 and he will have the right to participate in the second round of Euroleague’s Top16.
Panionios, a team which is currently second in the Greek league standings, will receive a buy out of 100.000 dollars in order to release the player and it remains to be seen how the situation will be resolved.
