Euroleague defending back to back champion Olympiacos wants to get stronger in the second round of Top16. Practically that means adding players and maybe correcting some summer mistakes. According to Eurohoops sources this is the case with Giorgi Shermadini, a member of Zaragoza who is currently at Malaga for the “Copa Del Rey” tournament.
The Reds have approached the team and the player since December and they are negotiating his return at Piraeus. The Greeks decided to let him go during the summer and replaced him with Mirza Begic. At this point no deal seems imminent and the most important thing is not what “Sherma” requests for his contract, while Zaragoza isn’t content with the proposed buy out. The financial distance between European champs and the Spaniards is still big. After all it’s not just a financial issue for Zaragoza, but also a big sporting decision since Shermadini is the starting center of the team and it will not be easy to be replaced at this point of the season.
