After one month in Astana, VTB league and Kazakhstan, Andrija Zizic is ready to return to the top level of European basketball, as a member of Maccabi Tel Aviv. The 34 years old center will be the replacement of injured Shawn James with a contract for the rest of the season.
Zizic, a former member of Barcelona, Panathinaikos and Olympiacos started the season in Cibona, however he left due to the financial problems of the team and signed with Astana on January. The veteran Croatian player has the experience to help immediately his new team and probably that’s why coach David Blatt chose him among a list with many other candidates.
The player has already agreed to terms with Maccabi Tel Aviv and the deal between the two sides is expected to be officially announced in the following days, or even hours.
