The deal was struck from December and today it will finally be announced officially. Dusan Ivkovic will be the new head coach of Anadolou Efes for the next two years and he is expected to travel in the next days to Istanbul and start planning the new roster of his team, in cooperation with the management of the Turkish club and with Vangelis Agelou, who’s (like in Olympiacos) is gonna be his “right hand” man on the bench.
It must be noted, though, that till this moment, no deal is in place, as Duda’s priority is to select the players who’s will stay with the team from the current roster. Although half of Europe (Teodosic, Micic, Perperoglou, Vezenkov, Doellman, Kristic) supposedly is in Efes’s list, first thing that Serbian coach is gonna do, is “to clear” the current roster.
Balbay, Batuk and Kilicli are a lock to continue with the team. On the contrary it seems that besides Erden, hard working Gonlum will also have to search for a new team. Dusko Savanovic will also be out and there will be a meeting with Jamont Gordon who has performed successfully under Ivkovic’s guidance in Olympiacos.
UPDATE: The announcement finally was made on Friday, 30th of May.
