The flirt between Tornike Shengelia and Baskonia started long time ago. During the first months of 2014 the Basques tried to sign him but he stayed in the NBA as a member of the Chicago Bulls, although Laboral continued to have contacts with him. They tried to bring him back to Spain for the playoffs, they didn’t make it and then started to talk about the next season. As Gigantes reported ten days ago, Baskonia offered him a three-year contract. But now we have a deal!
“Toko” agreed and will earn for the next three years 2,1 euros in total. And he will be one of the most expensive players of the team. Although next season’s coach of Baskonia is still unknown, despite the fact that Sergio Scariolo still has a contract, president Josean Querejeta decided to add the 22 years old Georgian power forward in the roster of the team, believing that he will bring him back more money in the near future…
