There were rumors about him visiting Athens a while ago, but now there’s a deal in place. According to Eurohoops sources from Spain, no matter what happens in the Greek league finals, Dusko Ivanovic is expected to be the new coach of Panathinaikos.
The two sides have already agreed to terms for a two years contract and with a 500.000 euros salary per season. Fragkiskos Alvertis is expected to return to his old position of team manager and the Montenegrin coach, best known for his work at Baskonia, will build a new team, giving emphasis to young, local talent.
The only thing missing at this point seems to be the signatures in the contract and the official announcement is expected after the end of the Greek league finals. That could be Monday, if Olympiacos beats the Greens on Sunday’s Game 4.
