As it’s rumored almost for a week, Valencia has made an offer to Nemanja Nedovic, but an other Spanish team entered the race in order to sign the Serbian guard. According to Eurohoops sources Laboral Kutxa also made its move for the player and his fate seems to be tied with Thomas Heurtel.
After being cut by the Warriors, Nedovic has to clear weavers in order to sign with a European team and as he said to Serbian newspaper “Novosti” he would like to return to Europe in order to get minutes on the court, despite having the dream to play in the NBA. There have been reports about NBA interest towards him, specially by Utah, but there’s nothing imminent on the table.
However, Laboral Kutxa also wants the player, as the team is searching for a point guard during the last month. Why the club from Vitoria needs a guard who can be a starter? It’s not a secret that the Spaniards want to sell Thomas Heurtel to the highest bidder, or else they would lose him for nothing this summer. That’s expected to happen before Euroleague’s Top16 and Nedovic can be a great replacement. That been said, Valencia seems to be the front runner, but there’s competition already and at least three more top Euroleague teams – Maccabi Tel Aviv, Anadolu Efes and Fenerbahce/ Ulker – are in need of a guard addition. Now if that guard ends up being Heurtel, that’s an other story…
