Three days before his NBA out option expires and after Russia qualification to London Olympics Andrei Kirilenko has almost decided to stay at least for one more season at CSKA Moscow, probably with Nenad Krstic along him

It’s almost a done deal and it’s a big win for European basketball. Andrei Kirilenko, the marquee superstar of last season’s Euroleague, according to sources from Moscow has already decided to stay at least one more year at CSKA.

Kirilenko can use the NBA opt out clause in his three year contract until the 12th of July, but he seems to have already made up his mind. He wants to stay at Moscow and win the Euroleague title – he missed it by just one point in the thrilling final against Olympiacos – he likes the competition spirit in the old continent, where every game is a must win situation for him, and of course he enjoyed his stay with his family in his home country.

Many NBA teams courted him, with three of them offering him very good contracts in order to lure him back in the States. However, CSKA will have him in his roster, unless a last minute offer turns everything upside down.

With Kirilenko staying in Moscow, everything gets easier for CSKA and that includes keeping Nenad Krstic. He has also offers from the NBA, but the Serbian center will continue to wear a CSKA jersey more or less for the same reasons.
