From Wednesday morning the news spread across Europe. Sarunas Jasikevicius just before the start of London Olympics decided to choose the next stop of his career by returning to Barcelona, the team in which he had played for three seasons, from 2000 to 2003.
Eurohoops.net got an official confirmation of this fact by Saras’ agent Maurizio Balducci: “He decided to return to his old team. He played there for three years and made the first big steps in his career. It was a very difficult decision because he left an other team that he really loves (ed.note: Panathinaikos). The deal is almost done”.
There was also an offer from Zalgiris Kaunas for Saras, according to some sources in Greece he considered playing in his home town, but finally he decided to wear once again the “blaugrana” colors. After all, he is also the owner of a bar in Barcelona since 2008.
