It was expected from the moment Germany was in the run for hosting a part of the Eurobasket 2015 and now it’s official. Dirk Nowitzki will play again for the German national team in the upcoming tournament.
The announcement was made in Frankfurt with Nowitzki announcing himself the news: “I have decided to be there”. As he admitted: “It was a real stroke of luck that I had the whole of May free and got some distance from the sport. I would be a nice way to finish my national team career and I really want to play in Berlin”.
However this may not be the end. When he was questioned about what he would do if Germany qualify to the upcoming Olympic games, he smiled and added: “Then we would have to talk again”.
