Lithuania succeeded in beating Spain 93-84 in the 2003 EuroBasket Final to grab the first gold medal after 64 years and the third overall, all coming from EuroBaskets (1937, 1939).

Arvydas Macijauskas led the effort with 21 points while Eurelijus Zukauskas added 18 points and seven boards. Sarunas Jasikevicius flirted with a double-double, logging ten points and nine assists.

On the other side, Pau Gasol tried to lift up Spain with 36 points followed by Juan Carlos Navarro with 18 and Jorge Garbajosa with 17, but it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.
