Anadolu Efes guard Vasilije Micic is among the players that Serbia coach Igor Kokoskov wants to have on the national team roster for February’s EuroBasket 2022 Qualifiers according to Mozzart Sport.
The Serbian Federation and Kokoskov, who is also the head coach of Fenerbahce Beko, will try to reach an agreement with the management of Efes in order to have Micic in the games against Georgia (19/2) and Switzerland (21/2) in Tbilisi. Mozzart says that chances “aren’t great” but Kokoskov will try to add Micic, one of the top guards in Europe, with the national team.
Efes will be facing Olympiacos Piraeus at home in February 18 and then play against Fenerbahce in February 26.
Serbia is currently 2-2 and at the second place in Group E. Top-placed (4-0) Georgia has already qualified to the EuroBasket as tournament hosts while Finland and Switzerland are tied at 1-3.
Mega Soccerbet big man Filip Petrusev is expected to make his debut with the national team in the Georgia bubble. The 20-year-old young ABA League star would’ve played in Finland’s bubble but he was down with COVID-19.
