Spain and Poland played against Senegal and Angola respectively in Santander. In theory both had an easy task, but only the Spaniards dominated the game as expected.
Rudy Fernandez (17 p.) and Pau Gasol (15 p.) led the way to a 96-49 triumph over Senegal of Gorgui Dieng (17 p., 8 r.). Sergio Rodriguez also added 11 points for the winners, Victor Claver did the same, while San Emeterio and Mirotic scored 10 points each.
On the contrary Poland got the close 79-77 win over Angola with Marcin Gortat being once again the top scorer (18 p.), getting help from A.J.Slaughter (13 p) and Mateusz Ponitka (12 p.). Carlos Morais of Angola scored 25 points.
