After the win of Lithuania over Turkey the mood in the press conference was not what you would expect to be. Coach Jonas Kazlauskas revealed, Jonas Valanciunas has to fly back to Toronto.
The star center of the Lithuanian national team is about to sign a new multiyear contract with the Raptors and he will have to undergo a medical exam first. Reports about him getting injured last week in the game against Austria may be a factor in this situation, however according to the medical stuff of the Lithuanian national team there’s no such issue.
Still with the upcoming Eurobasket starting in less than 20 days, a travel to the other side of the Atlantic is not the best way for the player to prepare himself.
