The absence of Jonas Valanciunas was evident, but also the efficiency of the Croatian defense. Croatia got the 72-59 win over Lithuania, the hosts of the Huawei tournament.
Bojan Bogdanovic with 12 points was the leading scorer of the winners, however it was all about defense as Lithuania scored just 18 points in the first 20 minutes of action. Reinaldas Seibutis scored 16 points for the losing side, which couldn’t get back in the game. Without Valanciunas who is in Toronto in order to sign his new contract, Lithuania loses a lot of its firepower.
On the contrary Croatia which has high ambitions for the upcoming Eurobasket, proved once again on the court that it should be considered a contender.
