The Spanish basketball federation announced that Alex Abrines will miss the upcoming Eurobasket due to plantar fasciitis, despite his wish to play and the medical treatment of his condition.
Abrines even played in the preparation game against Venezuela for 11 minutes, however the discomfort in his sore right foot remains. He is still in pain, the progress of his therapy is not considered as satisfactory as expected and today it was decided by the doctors and the player himself to leave the team.
The question now for Abrines is how this issue will affect his upcoming season with Barcelona in Euroleague and the Spanish Liga Endesa.
