Dairis Bertans was the hero for Latvia in the victory vs Poland (81-80). On the contrary AJ Slaughter missed the chance to stole the game at the buzzer.
Two seconds before the end Bertans made the basket and scored one free throw after being fouled, giving the victory to Latvia which had Berzins in a great night with 26 points (8/9 2ps and 3/5 3ps). Freimanis and Janicenoks added 11 points each and Blums (photo) made three threes!
Poland fought hard but finished third in the tournament, while Latvia finished second. Marcin Gortat was once again the leader of his team with 23 points (9/12 2ps) with Waczynski following with 19 points.
