Belgium, Poland and Georgia will start the Eurobasket with more confidence thanks to their wins in their last preparation game vs Iceland, Lebanon and Michigan State respectively.
Belgium beat Iceland with ease (86-46) behind De Zeeuw’s (21 p, 8 rebs), Lojeski’s (10p) and Van Rossom’s (10p) great game. Baeringsson was the only one among the players of Iceland who scored double digits (12p).
Poland was tested against Lebanon without Marcin Gortat and AJ Slaughter who rested, but didn’t have any problem to prevail (76-59). Cel helped with double-double (10p, 11 rebs), Kulig with an almost double-double (8 p., 9 rebs) and Krnowski added 12 points. Haidar (19p) was the leading scorer of Lebanon.
Shengelia (18p, 9 rebs), Markoishvili (12p) and Pachulia (12p, 7 rebs) were great and Georgia won its last preparation game 71-70 vs Michigan State. Schilling was the leading scorer (17p) and rebounder (9) for Spartans.
