With Jonas Maciulis scoring with a jump shot just two seconds before the end, Lithuania survived a late thriller against Estonia in Riga and claimed a much-needed win 62-64, as Gregor Arbet missed a three-point shot at the buzzer.
Real Madrid‘s forward made an impressive double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds) for Jonas Kazlauskas team, while Janar Talts was the top scorer for the losing squad, which came one step away from making a big surprise.
The Estonians outscored their opponents 26-11 in the first 12 minutes of the second half and earned a six-point lead (55-49). However, the Lithuanians came back and tied the game (62-62) with 28 seconds to go, only for Maciulis to give them a much-needed victory at the end.
