Poland got the 78-65 win over Finland and avoided the match up with the hot Serbian national team in the round of “16”. On the contrary the “pack of wolves” will have to face the Serbs.
The defensive improvement of Poland in the second half was the key to the game against an out of rythm Finland which has to settle for the fourth spot of the final standings and a match up with one of the best teams of the tournament so far. Adam Waczynski with 17 points was the leading scorer of the winners, three more players had scored in double digits, while Shawn Huff (17 p.) and Petteri Koponen (14 p., 8 as.) did their best for the losing side.
Poland will face the second team in the final Group B standings.
