In last year’s World Cup, France beat Spain in the quarter-finals in the Spaniards’ home court and eliminated them. This year, Spain wants to respond in the same way, namely to eliminate France in front of their fans!
Pau Gasol gathered his team-mates after the victory over Greece and told them: “We came to France to beat them”, inspiring his team-mates for their next challenge!
Later, he said about the win against Greece in the quarter-finals: “The important thing is that we beat Greece and advanced to the semi-finals. We knew how to achieve the victory and fought until the end with team spirit. We were expecting a tough battle and that’s what happened. I want to thank my team-mates because they did their best. If we play against France, it will be a special match and certainly very close, as always. We have the weapons to overcome this obstacle.”
