Predrag Saric, father of Dario Saric and one of the most well known Croatian players shared his opinion about the national team and even his son was not safe.
Speaking at “Jutarnji” father Saric has some harsh words: “I just say it: “Dario look at the mirror and ask yourself: Are you the “chosen one”? Do you work like you should? I don’t doubt your energy, but everything else is an issue. You are 21 years old and you have to wake up. Does it matter that you jump high and grab the ball, when you are missing open shots and give the ball to your opponents? I don’t want to mention any other names”.
According to Predrag Saric: “We had some easy wins against weak teams in the preparation games. We won without playing defence. I can’t believe that Bogdanovic, Tomic and the rest of the team forgot how to play basketball. What can you say after 25 turnovers against the Czech Republic. We should have been ready, but we had a black out. For many years we play without a real point guard. Look at Teodosic in Serbia, or Spanoulis in Greece. You know who was the key player for Split in its great season? The point guard, Zoran Sretenovic. Congratulations to Radja and Kukoc, but he made all the difference”.
