The 14 assists are a new Eurobasket record – Tomas Satoransky dished 15 assists, but in an overtime game – and Milos Teodosic was the main subject of discussion in the press conference. “Only the police can stop him by arresting him”, joked despite his defeat Czech Republic’s coach Ronen Ginzburg.
His teammate Stefan Markovic added: “He is just amazing. I know him from when we were kids in the junior national teams. He is doing what he was supposed to do, he is our leader”.
As for coach Aleksandar Djordjevic, a legendary point guard himself, he admitted: “He is a unique player. He is putting his stamp on this decade. His vision of the game is unbelievable. He is doing things in practice that I have never seen before. I don’t like to compare players, so I will not. He is just unique”.
