Renaldas Seibutis was ready for an uptempo game like all Lithuanians do and the fact that Italy also like this kind of basketball turned out to be a weapon for the winners who are now preparing for the class against Serbia.
As he said: “Yes, of course we are ready for this kind of game. According to the final result, probably it was a style of play that suited us. On the other hand it was a very hard game, decided on overtime. We are now thinking about the semifinal against Serbia, which is a top class team and remains unbeaten in the tournament. We are ready for a big fight and we are ready for the challenge”.
Jonas Maciulis added: “My years with Panathinaikos helped me to change level. It was a hard game, but we deserved the win. Now our focus is the semifinal with Serbia”.
As for the losing side, Andrea Bargnani who has an amazing second half on the way to 21 points, added: “We had the chance to win in the game before the overtime but we lost the last shot. On the other hand we have an important game tomorrow because we have the goal of getting qualified to the pre-olympic tournament”.
