France already turned the page and it’s thinking about qualifying to the Rio Olympics next summer. The motive of the team is obvious and simple, as Vincent Collet said in the press conference.
The French coach explained: “The main goal for us now is the Olympics. We have new generations ready to take charge, but for Tony Parker this is the last shot for Olympic medal. We were very dissapointed after Thursday’s loss. But the only option is to keep fighting and this is what we did. Our choice was to finish well and win this medal. Serbia showed the most things in the competition, it was a way to show things too. The way we did it was a good way. We involved a lot of players in this result. This is good news for us. We didn’t get what we wanted but it’s sports. Sometimes you fall down, but it’s important to get back up”.
Nando De Colo added: ” The bronze it’s not what we came for, but in the end we got a medal. Because it’s the first step for the future, it’s always better to end with a win. It’s never easy to play against Serbia, but the whole team was focused”.
