The press conference of coach Aleksandar Djordjevic in Belgrade after the end of the Eurobasket ended up being an attack to FIBA and the referees.
As he said: “They don’t like to see us in games that decide a medal. FIBA does not receive anything from us, no money, no marketing. We are a federation with limited resources, a two million euros budget, there is little we can do at the international level, but some things that happened were obvious and therefore we will react. We will send them a video report.”
He explained: “Serbia had the same referee in four games. Greek Christodoulou is a great referee, but this is not clear to me. It’s not clear why a Spanish referee played us in the semifinal and it’s not clear why they take away from the athletes the right to fight for a medal, but this just make our challenge even greater. Tony Parker said to our captain Milos Teodosic: “You play here every year and in general you get no respect”.
