The blog of Clement Gullot in the French website of “Le Monde” newspaper may cost them one million euros. That’s the amount of damages that the Spanish basketball federation (FEB) and the Spanish superior sports council (CSD) are asking.
Gullot implied that Pau Gasol was using performance enhancing drugs during the recent Eurobasket and according to the lawsuit, as “Gigantes” reports, “there’s a systematic strategy by “Le Monde” against the Spanish sports”. FEB and CSD want to protect “the reputation of Spanish sports in general and the Spanish basketball national team in particular”. The demands are the retraction of the article, the publication of the possible sentence by “Le Monde” and one million euros which will be donated to charities.
