Just one day after the initial scare about the hamstring injury of George Papagiannis, things are looking better for him and the Greek national team.
Papagiannis, who missed the game against Spain, is considered questionable for the upcoming Eurobasket. However, the newest exams proved that his condition is much better, his rehabilitation is on schedule and the prediction at this point is favorable.
As the national team GM Nikos Zisis said: “We expect him and Sloukas to soon be with us”.
So far, Papagiannis has not yet practiced with the team. Kostas Sloukas is also absent from practices, however, his presence in the official games was never in doubt.
With Papagiannis onboard, a former lottery pick who was a second All-EuroLeague team member this season, and Giannis playing the power forward position, Greece automatically has one of the top frontlines for the upcoming Eurobasket.
