After being forced to leave the training camp three weeks ago, Andrew Albicy recovered from a thigh injury and was medically cleared to rejoin the France senior national team, the French Federation of Basketball announced early Monday morning.

Albicy, 32, emerged as the 13th player at the disposal of national team selector Vincent Collet with 12 permitted to be registered in the final squad. There is also hope Olympiacos center Moustapha Fall can rejoin the training camp after initially being cut due to injury. The Gran Canaria point guard will indeed rejoin preparations today, Monday.
France’s remaining selections:
Andrew Albicy (Gran Canaria)
Isaia Cordinier (Virtus Segafredo Bologna)
Evan Fournier (New York Knicks)
Rudy Gobert (Minnesota Timberwolves)
Thomas Heurtel
Mouhammadou Jaiteh (Virtus Segafredo Bologna)
Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot
Theo Maledon (Oklahoma City Thunder)
Amath M’Baye (Anadolu Efes)
Elie Okobo (AS Monaco)
Vincent Poirier (Real Madrid)
Terry Tarpey (Le Mans)
Guerschon Yabusele (Real Madrid)
Starting Group K of the 2023 FIBA World Cup European Qualifiers on an advantageous 5-1 record, the Blues will host the Czech Republic in Paris Wednesday and visit Bosnia-Herzegovina in Sarajevo three days later. Albicy is considered doubtful to play in the top end of FIBA’s international window but is in the mix for the 2022 EuroBasket.
In a quick turnaround to EuroBasket, France will compete in Cologne against Germany, Lithuania, Hungary from 1 through 7 September, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Slovenia, looking to get out of Group B. The knockout stage of the tournament to be held in Berlin stretches to 18 September.
