With no games left until the Eurobasket, Greece’s coach Dimitris Itoudis is waiting for the final news from the team doctors about the players he will have available for the tournament.
That’s why Greece may travel with 13 or 14 players to Italy. “It’s something that we are examining, not because I made recently a proposal about extending the roster, but because we may need to decide on the final day about our final roster”, said Itoudis.
However, there’s restrained optimism that Kostas Sloukas, Kostas Antetokounmpo, Ioannis Papapetrou, and George Papagiannis will be available, giving to Greece the best possible roster.
“We have some good news, but we will see on Tuesday’s practice”, clarified Itoudis. “Papagiannis and Papapetrou feel really good and they already practiced with the rest of the team. Sloukas and Antetokounmpo are progressing ahead of schedule, but nothing can be certain yet”.
