The last edition of the official Eurobasket 2022 Power Rankings is all about Serbia.
After their impressive showing in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers, the Serbs have jumped to the top position of the rankings, pushing Slovenia down one spot and France three whole spots.
Of course, that has also to do with France’s defeat to Bosnia, but the Serbs are for now the big winners with the following justification: “We said in our last edition that Serbia will still be contenders for the title and they put together a huge window to revive their World Cup hopes with wins over Greece and Turkey. Serbia had to dig deep in overtime at home before fending off a huge fightback from Turkey in Istanbul. Two-time reigning NBA MVP Nikola Jokic showed his class, but there were several key contributions that will raise Serbia’s hopes of EuroBasket glory”.
With the tournament just two days ago it remains to be seen if that would be the case.
