Milan, Italy – Giannis Antetokounmpo rolled his ankle in the last contest of the Eurobasket group stage between Greece and Estonia, he finished the game on the bench and left for the locker rooms slightly limping, however, his condition is not that serious.

Per the official announcement of the Greek federation: “Giannis Antetokounmpo has suffered a light sprain of his right ankle and is being monitored by the medical staff for a continuous assessment of his condition”.

Greek national team coach Dimitris Itoudis had already said in the press conference that “it’s all good”, explaining: “Giannis was substituted and he would not be back in the game. He got iced and rehabilitated as he does behind closed doors. This time it was public”.

However, after the game, the player was examined mainly for precautionary reasons. Greece is flying on Friday morning to Berlin for the final phase of the Eurobasket together with the rest of the Milan group teams and they are scheduled to play on Sunday against the Czech Republic, giving enough time for Giannis to rest.
