Berlin, Germany – First in the game against Turkey Cedi Osman missed two key free throws and France got the overtime win. Just one round later, Simone Fontecchio does the same and the end result is France getting to the Eurobasket 2022 semifinals.
“Two of their best players… we got lucky, we stayed focused until the end of the game and in overtime, we made sure to get the win”, admitted French forward Guerschon Yabusele after the game, speaking to Eurohoops.
“We have seen this little door for us and we never give up”, he added, focusing on the next goal which is obviously a medal.
“We said it before, we want the gold medal. It doesn’t make sense coming here to say we go for the silver or the bronze”.
