Belgium began the 2025 EuroBasket Qualifiers by beating Slovakia 75 – 6o on the road behind a powerful defensive performance, especially in the second half.
Retin Obasohan scored 22 points and dished out four assists for Belgium while Pierre Antoine-Gillet contributed 14 points. Jonas Delalieux had 10 points plus five rebounds.
Vladimir Brondziasky (17 points, six rebounds) and Mario Ihring (12 points) stood out from Slovakia.
Belgium made an 11 – 1 run halfway through the third period to go ahead 61 – 49. The visiting side proceeded to establish a lead beyond double figures and ultimately get a comfortable win.
The fourth period was particularly rough for Slovakia that managed to score only six points Belgium wasn’t that productive with 11 but these proved to be more than enough.
