Lithuania dominated the second half against Poland to capture an 83 – 64 victory in front of its home crowd
Osvaldas Olisevicius produced 20 points for Lithuania on pretty solid shooting (8-12 from the field, including 4-7 triples) Rokas Giedraitis pitched in 13 points and Tomas Dimsa scored 10 while their team as a whole turned a close game for 20 minutes into a rout.
Lithuania was up 35 – 30 at halftime and then turned the heat on in the third period to grab a 59 – 42 lead a bit before the end of the quarter. Poland tried to fight back but to no avail, as the hosts proceeded to go ahead even by 24 points (81 – 57) down the stretch.
Neither Michal Sokolowski’s 26 points nor Mateusz Ponitka’s all-around contribution of 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists were enough for Poland.
