Germany defeats Serbia to win U18 European Championship

For the first time in history, Germany has won the U18 FIBA Eurobasket.

Talented German players overcame defending champions Serbia in the Tampere championship game with a final score of 93-83.

Christian Anderson from Texas Tech University led Germany with 31 points, while Bayern Munich’s Ivan Kharchenkov flirted with a triple-double, scoring 18 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and dishing out eight assists.

On the other side, former Partizan player Savo Drezgić had 30 points, seven assists, and six rebounds, while Crvena Zvezda’s Andrej Kostić followed with 23 points.

Slovenia took third place with an 84-70 win over Israel as Baskonia’s Vit Hrabar scored 24 points.

Despite finishing fourth, Israeli Ben Saraf was honored as the tournament’s MVP. Alongside him, Savo Drezgić from Serbia, Urban Kroflič from Slovenia, Christian Anderson, and Hannes Steinbach from Germany were included in the All-Tournament team.
