Following Vincent Collet’s departure from the French national team’s bench, a new era is upon us with JL Bourg-en-Bresse’s head coach Frederic Fauthoux taking the role. Since his very first call-ups, he made sure his national team would have a completely renovated look.
The 12-man roster for the upcoming EuroBasket 2025 Qualifiers window will feature 2006-born projected NBA Draft picks Nolan Traore and Noa Essengue, who are respectively shining in European competitions with Saint-Quentin (BCL) and ratiopharm Ulm (EuroCup).
They’re not the only new faces to play with the French national team at the end of November. SIG Strasbourg’s 2003-born Brice Dessert was also called up, with JL Bourg-en-Bresse’s own Hugo Benitez and Jean-Marc Pansa making the list too.
Andrew Albicy is the only survivor from the Olympic Games’ French roster. Axel Bouteille, Paul Lacombe, Nicolas Lang, Yoan Makoundou, Adam Mokoka, and Amine Noua complete the roster.
France is set to play against the competition’s co-hosts Cyprus both at home and away in the upcoming window. In their first two games played in Group E of the Qualifying Stage, they beat Croatia 73-61 and Bosnia and Herzegovina 74-64 on the road.
