Slovakia was ready to celebrate a historic result in Bratislava, dragging at 67-64 with seconds left in the first OT.
Then, Santi Yusta happened: a crazy three-point buzzer-beater saved the day for the Spanish national team, which kept its composure and went all the way to the final 76-72 to end the second overtime.
Zaragoza’s forward wasn’t only the savior of the day for Spain, but also his country’s leading scorer with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds. He was followed by his club’s teammate Fran Guerra at 13 points and by the debuting Izan Almansa, as the 2005-born forward scored 10 points.
