Finding an historic win over the reigning World Cup champions, Sweden is now at the same record in Group D

By Eurohoops team / info@eurohoops.net

After Great Britain yesterday over Greece, the 2025 EuroBasket Qualifiers saw another surprising result on Friday night, as Sweden won 73-72 against the German national team.

It’s a historic win for the Scandinavian national team, which found itself at the same record as Germany with a 1-2 in Group D. The Swedish backcourt composed of Ludvig Hakanson (22 points) and Melwin Pantzar (14 points) was beneficial in ultimately finding the win in Hovet.

On the other end, David Kramer had a career-high night with 43 points over 8/11 from beyond the arc but Alex Mumbru couldn’t celebrate a first win on the German national team’s bench.
