Far from a serious challenge, Serbia clinched a berth in the 2025 EuroBasket.
On Sunday, the team guided by Svetislav Pesic improved to 4-0 in Group G of the Qualifiers and booked a ticket to next summer’s tournament, a few months after a bronze medal in the 2024 Olympic Games.
Potential revenge and a rematch opposite the United States is not on the cards in a meeting of the best European national teams. However, Aleksa Avramovic seems eager to play alongside international teammates currently displaying their talents in the NBA, Nikola Jokic with the Denver Nuggets, Bogdan Bogdanovic with the Atlanta Hawks, and Vasilije Micic with the Charlotte Hornets.
“You all know that those of us who are here, and even those who aren’t, love playing for Serbia. Everyone would have come. Jokic, Bogdanovic, and Micic! They all would have come if they could,” he mentioned after registering a game-high 18 points in a lopsided win against Denmark in Belgrade’s Aleksandar Nikolic Hall on Sunday, “Motivation is never in question when playing for the national team.”

Besides 7/12 from the field, including two triples, the CSKA player at the club level dished out eight assists for the senior national team of his country.
With two games left to be played in February, Serbia is already in for the EuroBasket, before completing the schedule with matchups versus Finland and Georgia.
