With Turkish Airlines EuroLeague players in the mix for the next games of the 2025 EuroBasket Qualifiers, Evan Fournier is projected to represent France in February.
Except for Qualifiers of major international tournaments in the summer, the 32-year-old winger was unable to play for the senior national team of his country during the winter schedule since 2012, after moving his talents to the NBA. Signing with Olympiacos last September, he intended to resurface in an additional area for Les Bleus. Included in the list of players called by selector Frederic Fauthoux, he is indeed heading to international action in the next FIBA window.
Andrew Albicy, Isaia Cordinier, Jaylen Hoard, Yoan Makoundou, Theo Maledon, Adam Mokoka, Amine Noua, Elie Okobo, Vincent Poirier, Neal Sako, and Matthew Strazel are the remaining 11 players featured in the list revealed by the French Federation of Basketball, FFBB, on Friday. In addition, Brice Dessert, Mohamed Diawara, and Nolan Traore were called up to assist in team practices.
At 4-0 in Group E of the Qualifiers, France needs one win against Croatia on the road or Bosnia-Herzegovina at home to clinch a berth in next summer’s EuroBasket. The upcoming fixtures are scheduled for February 21 and 24.
